An inspirational programme specifically designed for Primary and Prep schools as a progressive, interactive hands on approach into the world of Bushcraft nature & outdoor adventure.

Introduction

Our Explorer series, successfully launched into primary schools in 2014 has been developed to adopt a progressive, interactive hands on approach, providing all pupils the opportunity to explore their surroundings and gain a greater understanding of nature, the outdoor environment and themselves. Throughout the programme students work in teams to practice exciting Bushcraft skills including fire lighting, shelter building, cooking on an open fire, the art of camouflage, tracking, natural navigation, first aid and in later modules sleeping in a tent.

This fun, hands on challenging programme encourages student to step outside their comfort zones to, discover and experience survival situations which help develop a sense of exploration, curiosity and adventure.

The Explorer series has been designed to complement Forest Schools & in some cases provides schools with a means of pushing their own Outdoor Education boundaries in a safe & controlled environment.

During each phase of the Explorer Programme students develop a range of transferable life skills, including;

Self and team resilience
Leadership & teamwork skills
Communication
Problem solving
Decision making
Fitness and nutrition
Environmental awareness
Much of the Explorer content is easily transferable into the classroom and can be linked into the National Curriculum at KEY Stage 2 & 3
