Bronze Open Expedition
For small groups and individuals who are unable to complete their expedition at their school or unit we offer a programme of Open Bronze Expeditions.
In order to complete the Bronze Expedition section participant’s need to complete a programme of training and a practice expedition. Once these are completed they then need to plan and undertake a 2 day qualifying expedition.
Bronze Training and Practice Expeditions
1 day of expedition preparation, route planning and a 2 day practice expedition.

23rd - 25th July Peak District
Bronze Qualifying Expedition
1 day of expedition preparation, route planning and a 2 day assessed expedition.
Dates:
27th - 31st Aug Peak District
All the locations we use for our Open Bronze Expeditions are easily accessible by car, bus and rail links.
Costs
£165 per person
We require a deposit of £50 to confirm your place, the remaining balance is due 28 days before your expedition commences
What we include
- Pre-expedition information pack containing all the information you need including location details, transport and kit lists etc.
- Accommodation prior to the start of the expedition, this may be either bunk barn or camping depending upon the expedition location.
- Camping fees for the remaining nights.
- All group equipment including tents, stoves, & maps etc
- Guidance and support from experienced, qualified and friendly instructors

- Tents
- Stoves, pans and fuel
- Group first aid kit
- Group shelter
- Maps
What you need to provide
Transport to and from the expedition venue
All your own expedition food - we will provide guidance on this
All personal items of equipment - we will provide a comprehensive kit list
The next step
If you would like to book onto one of our Open Gold programmes you will need to be aged 14 – 24 and must be enrolled on to the Bronze DofE programme.
To join a qualifying expedition you must also have completed a training programme and a practice expedition and have these signed off by your DofE Leader.
If would like to join one of our expeditions please complete an application form and return it to us along with a deposit of £50 per expedition.

Note
This programme is subject to approval by your Operating Authority, it is your responsibility to contact them and confirm it fulfils their requirements.
Please note we require a minimum of 14 participants to run an Open Bronze Expedition. In the unlikely event that the numbers drop below this we will contact you to discuss the options which may include cancelling the expedition.
