Alladale Wilderness Adventure
Alladale Wilderness Reserve is a privately
owned estate which offers one of the most remote and beautiful setting in the Scottish Highlands.
The purpose of the Reserve is to restore a remote area of the Highlands to its former natural glory. The Highlands are considered one of Europe's last great areas of wilderness, yet much of the flora and fauna that once thrived here has been driven to extinction by the activities of man.
During the Alladale Wilderness Adventure Challenge students will have the opportunity to meet some of the lost species the reserve has returned, and contribute directly to this pioneering conservation project.
Based at Deannich Lodge, within Glen Mór. The first and last night is spent at our base camp with the rest of the time spent a various wild camps around the Alladale Reserve.
Alladale Wilderness Adventure Challenge activities
During the programme students have opportunities to participate in outdoor adventure activities and conservation projects such as;
- Climbing

- Tree planting

- Hiking and camping.

Conservation Projects
Working alongside Gillies and rangers who live and work at Alladale students learn about the day-to-day running of a Highland Estate. They actively participate in actual conservations tasks around the reserve and will find themselves feeding the wild boar, fixing fencing, planting trees, looking for deer calves or carrying out survey work on behalf of a research programme.
